itschippedcup prompted: Hamish/Belle - Belle brings a picnic to the police station for Hamish as thanks for helping her get a new job.
Set in my Stranded!verse.

She needed to thank him somehow. Hamish had surprised her with the suggestion of becoming the new librarian at the local library. Mrs. McGregor was up in age, and the poor old woman could hardly see passed her nose anymore even with the help of her coke bottle glasses. Belle had already run her own library back in Storybrooke, so this small book dwelling would be a cinch to manage.
Hamish had smiled brighter than the sun when she agreed to take the job. She knew he wanted her to stay, even if he hadn’t admitted it yet. When she arrived in town, he’d asked her to stay a little longer than just the day it would have taken her tire to be repaired. Belle had fallen in love with the town of Lochdubh in those few days, and Hamish’s adorably quiet ways were endearing.
With borrowed picnic basket in hand, Belle trekked contentedly to the police station. She knocked a couple times to announce her presence before stepping inside. Wee Jock met her immediately, bouncing excitedly at her feet. She assured the little dog there was something special in the basket for him.
“Belle,” Hamish said as he rounded a corner, a slight ring of surprise in his voice. One side of his lip curled up as she greeted him with a glimmering smile. “Wha’ do I owe this pleasure?”
“I brought you lunch,” she indicated, holding up the picnic basket.
“Ye didn’ have ti-“
“Nonsense!” Belle held out her hand, an enticing gleam in her eyes. “I wanted to thank you for helping me become the new librarian. Brining you lunch is the least I can do.” She wiggled her fingers playfully at him. “So, come with me, P.C. MacBeth.”
He looked a bit dazed as he stared at her then his lips slanted in that crooked little smile Belle adored, and he grabbed his jacket before grasping Belle’s still offered hand. If he hadn’t verbally admitted to wanting her to stay in Lochdobh, the blithely shine in his eyes admitted it for him.
No luck with writing today :( My daughter decided to sabotage my writing time by not taking a nap. Urg!
1) I’m proud of the music I listen to. I’m not into a lot of mainstream music. Most of the bands and artist I like no one has ever heard of before and I like it that way! 2) My photography. I’m not the greatest at taking pictures, but I try my best and usually they come out well :)
Hoping to get some writing done today. I haven’t stopped for days now and I feel bad because there’s prompts waiting to be filled!
